Latex mattress is the latest sleep system that has gained popularity in Europe. Major manufacturers like Sealy, Serta, Royal Pedic and Simmons have introduced their range of latex mattresses. Latex mattress uses the sap of the rubber tree as its prime ingredient. By using two different methods, we can get Dunlop latex mattress and the Talalay latex mattress. In the Dunlop method, the liquid rubber is whipped; the air is injected in the mixture and then put in a mold. In Talalay method, besides whipping the rubber, it is also cured by core pins and then vacuumed. This results in a very high quality of foam mattress, with a regular cell structure. Both Dunlop as well as Talalay are very comfortable and durable, the latter is costlier.
Latex mattresses are more expensive than the conventional mattresses. Their life is nearly thirty years, which is far higher than the life of the conventional mattress. The companies manufacturing the mattresses offer a warranty of at least twenty years, so you can rest assured that should go wrong, your investment is safe. Latex mattress protects you against microbes and dust mites. The mattress has excellent ventilation system, so if you suffer from asthma, allergies or any type of breathing problems, you will benefit a lot. It is a very convenient mattress, since you do not have to turn over the mattress. To enjoy superior benefits, go for organic latex mattress.
The comfort level provided by the latex mattress is far higher than that provided by the conventional mattress. To get the best quality, choose foam whose density is higher. But at the same time, watch out for your budget because higher density foam is more expensive. The latex foam moulds itself to your body’s shape. This results in the equal distribution of your weight throughout the mattress. This removes the pressure from the areas, which are normally under pressure when you sleep on the normal mattress. This gives you deep and sound sleep. It also eliminates aches and pains. You wake up relaxed and refreshed.
Hence consider your purchase of a latex mattress as an investment towards your good health.

A futon is a dual-purpose piece of furniture that can be used both as a bed and as a mattress. While sleeping at night you can convert futon from a couch into a bed. But in the morning, you can change it back to the couch. Hence you need to keep the futon plump, comfortable and free from the stains. This can best be achieved by flipping it over periodically. Here we offer the simple methods to take care of the futon so that it can give you a long service.
1. Cover your futon with a futon cover if you want to use the futon as a couch. This will prevent stains, dust and oils from dirtying the futon.
2. Use a mattress pad or vinyl sheet if you want to use the futon as a bed. This sheet or pad is inserted between the fitted sheet and futon mattress and prevents staining.
3. Turn over your futon at least once a month if you use it as a couch. Rotate it often while changing the sheets if you use it as a bed.
4. Keep your futon in the sun at least once in six months to retain its freshness.
5. Hang your mattress out in the air every morning, if you are using futon to sleep. This will prevent the dampness from seeping in the mattress.
6. Remove the dust from the mattress regularly with a vacuum cleaner.
7. Use a rug cleaner to remove the stains.
8. Clean the mattress or certain spots with a scrub brush, warm water and detergent. Ensure it does not get very wet. Then let it dry outside.
9. Do not keep any wet objects like clothes or towels on the mattress because this will make the mattress damper.
